Child Safety Standards
1. Our commitment
Hum: South Asian Dating ("Hum") has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to every profile, photo, video, message and interaction on Hum, and to any attempt to use Hum to harm a child anywhere.
2. Hum is for adults only
Everyone on Hum must be at least 18 years old. We remove any account that we believe belongs to someone under 18.
3. What is prohibited
- Any child sexual abuse material, including photos, videos, drawings and computer-generated or AI-generated images.
- Any content that sexualizes a minor, or that shows a minor in a sexual or suggestive context.
- Grooming: building a relationship with a minor, or with their parent or guardian, in order to sexually exploit the minor.
- Sextortion, and any request for sexual images from a minor.
- Trafficking a child, or advertising or arranging the sexual exploitation of a child.
- Using Hum to find, contact or arrange to meet a minor, or sharing links to CSAM on other services.
4. How to report a child safety concern
- In the app: on any profile or conversation, open the menu, tap Report, and choose "May be under 18", "It's inappropriate" or "Something else". Your report is anonymous.
- By email: support@thehumapp.com, with the subject line "Child Safety Report". Do not attach or send any images. Describe what you saw and where you saw it, such as the profile name or conversation, and we will review it in the app.
- If a child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (911 in the United States) first.
- You can also report directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.
5. How we respond
- We review child safety reports as a priority.
- We remove CSAM and any content that exploits a child as soon as we become aware of it, and permanently ban the accounts involved.
- We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), as required by United States law, and cooperate with law enforcement.
- We preserve relevant information as required by law to support investigations.
6. Child safety point of contact
Banyan Way Inc. has designated a child safety point of contact who can speak to Hum's CSAM prevention practices and compliance. Email: support@thehumapp.com, with the subject line "Child Safety".
7. Related policies
These standards work alongside our Community Guidelines, Safety Policy, Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
